Hybrid wind and solar powered street light HTF-008
Product Description
Wind–solar hybrid street lights are an efficient and energy-saving new lighting system composed of solar panels, a wind turbine, a controller, a battery (or lithium battery), and an LED light source. The system simultaneously harnesses energy from both the solar panels and the wind turbine, storing the generated electricity in the battery bank.
When lighting is needed, the inverter converts the stored DC power into AC power and supplies it to the lighting equipment through the transmission line. This technology effectively reduces the dependence of urban lighting on the traditional power grid, while also providing a reliable illumination solution for rural areas with limited electrical infrastructure.
Product design
1. Selection of the Wind Turbine
The wind turbine is the signature component of a wind–solar hybrid street light. The most critical factor in turbine selection is ensuring smooth and stable operation. Since the light pole functions similarly to a cable tower without a fixed foundation, any vibration produced by the turbine could loosen the fixtures of the lamp head or solar panel brackets. Therefore, vibration control is essential.
Another key consideration is appearance and weight. The turbine should have an attractive design and be as lightweight as possible to reduce the load on the pole.
2. Optimal Configuration of the Power System
Ensuring reliable lighting duration is a major performance indicator for street lights. As an independent power system, a wind–solar hybrid street light requires optimal configuration from the light source power, turbine capacity, solar panel capacity, to the size of the energy storage system.
The optimal system configuration must be designed based on the natural resource conditions of the installation site, including solar radiation, wind availability, climate characteristics, and seasonal variations, in order to maximize energy efficiency.
3. Light Pole Strength Design
The structural strength of the light pole should be determined according to the selected wind turbine, solar panel capacity, total system weight, and installation height requirements. Local environmental factors such as wind speed and climate conditions must also be considered. Through appropriate structural design and material selection, the pole can remain stable and secure during long-term operation while bearing the additional load generated by the rotating turbine.
